The Nigerian Army has signed a Memorandum of Understanding and partnership with MLAILPKC and Centre for Peace and Strategic Studies University of Ilorin to facilitate and coordinate research projects.
The signing took place on Wednesday at the Army Headquarters in Abuja.
Speaking at the event Chief of Army Staff able represents represented by Army Director Training and Planning the two institutions have agreed to promote the organization of seminars, academic interactive sessions and other professional development activities which includes joint training and human capacity building as well as development of curriculum on executive courses in peacekeeping..
According to COAS, the partnership is similar to the academic partnership that exists between ABU Zaria and Nigerian Army School of Military Police and Nigerian Army School of Legal Service.
He stressed that the partnership would boost curriculum and reputation of Martin Luther Agwai International Leadership and Peacekeeping Centre, MLAILPKC on aspects of leadership training, peace and security development as well as conflict resolution and mediation.
In his remark, the Vice Chancellor University of Ilorin, Professor Sulyman Abdulkareem emphasized that the MOU would promote cordial relationship with UniIlorin in academic matters, researches and other areas of mutual benefits.
The VC further said it is envisaged that the MLAILPKC would continue its collaboration with national and international institutions, KAIPKTC.
The event ended with the beautiful decoration of special guest from Ilorin and the presentation of Nigerian Army Monthly Magazine
