Confusion, destruction, as cult gangs clash in Ibadan
There was confusion at Aremo Ode-Aje area of Ibadan, the Oyo State capital, last Sunday, as two brival cult camps engaged in fratricidal war.
Accoding to findings, trouble began when the Irefin boys and the Paadi boys in the late evening on Sunday engaged each other over issues that are yet to be ascertained.
Findings showed shops were vandalised and their contents looted during the fracas between the cult groups who freely brandished and applied dangerous weapons to prosecute the mayhem.
The Police spokesperson in Oyo State, Olugbenga Fadeyi, who clarified findings were ongoing to find the cause of the trouble, said efforts had been instituted to bring the situation under control.
A resident of the Aremo community, who spoke in confidence, explained the situation had become normal and normalcy restored.
In a recent similar development around the area, one person was killed while five others.
A cording to a witness, the latest violence might not be unconnected with the earlier killing.
