Student of Oyo state college of education says no go in back on protest

Students of the Oyo State College Of Education, Lanlate , have protested against alleged outrageous fees being enforced on them.

President of the Students Union Government, mohammed Olaitan said they were being attacked by dangerous animals during lectures as a result of the thick bush surrounding the school which were left uncut.

Olaitan, in a statement on Monday afternoon , said despite charging an outrageous sum of N3 , 000 cumulatively, the management has refused to issue any form of identification to students , thereby exposing the student to harassment and denying them scholarship opportunities.

The president added that it is worrisome that in the 21st Century , students are still not able to check their results online and print course forms despite paying for it every semester maintaining that each student is required to pay N8 , 000 in 100 level , and N 3 , 000 at 200 and 300 levels , stressing that with this money being paid, there are still no noticeable development in the institution.

He further said the school environment is bushy and unkept with dangerous animals attacking students during lectures which does not befit an institution.

Olaitan however urge the students to remain steadfast and peaceful as their demand remains the immediate resignation of the Provost and Dean of Student Affairs so as to have meaningful development in the school

Meanwhile Attempts to reach officials of the college proved abortive as at the time of filing this report .
