NFF BEGINS SEARCH OF FUNDS FOR SUPER EAGLES AFCON MATCH AGAINST LEONE STARS OF SIERRA LEONE

The Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) has started combing Abuja’ in search of the funds to organise the African Cup of Nations (AFCON) qualifier between the Super Eagles of Nigeria and Leone Stars of Sierra Leone, which is sheduled to hold in Benin on November 13, top officials of the federation have revealed. The NFF secretariat is expected to temporarily relocate to Benin City tomorrow, while Super Eagles players and their officials will start arriving on Sunday. Journalists learnt yesterday that the NFF has not received money from the supervising sports ministry to persecute the match, which will be the first competitive game for the Super Eagles since the resumption of sports activities after the COVID-19 lockdown. Meanwhile, a source who pleaded anonymity, said the delay in securing the needed fund for the match was giving top NFF officials sleepless night It would be recalled that The Nigeria football federation recently ,received a substantial amount if 1million dollars from world football governing body FIFA has palliative for the novel coronal virus troubling the world. However NFF has begun combing all nooks and crannies of the glass house in Abuja including cooperate organisations for sponsors so as for the Super eagles to have a good game and conducive environment at the Samuel ogbemudia stadium in Benin and the outing in general.
